Navy blue, marine style skirt with lining and flat piping

A-line button down marine skirt

I know what you’ll think – I’m cheating again. Guilty as charged – another skirt sewn by my friend Ania, but this is the last one. I think, however, that you won’t hold it against me, because things made by Ania are beautifully finished and really nice to look at 馃檪

The skirt is kept in a marine style, made of cotton woven fabric with a subtle pattern. Vertical seams are decorated with a flat piping made of striped jersey fabric. The front has button closure – metal buttons with anchors. I would prefer if the buttons were a little bigger, but prices of these things are ridiculously high so I needed to compromise :/

The skirt is lined and it’s as nicely finished inside as on the outside.

As usual, I drafted the pattern for this skirt myself. And, so that it didn’t go totally without my sewing – I altered a t-shirt to match the skirt. I unseamed the original neckband and replaced it with a new one, made of the striped jersey fabric. I also added a small pocket on a one side of the shirt.
Do you like my new skirt? Do you wear clothes in marine style?
